You know something's broken. You haven't decided where to start.

An operational assessment answers one question before anyone spends real money: in this process, what's worth fixing first? You pick the process. It might be the one that keeps coming back, the one with the backlog, or the one where money sits waiting.

You don't need clean data or an improvement program in place. Most teams we work with don't track error rates, and finding those gaps is part of the work.

This is a diagnosis and a plan, not the fix. You own the plan when we're done. If you want help carrying it out, the full $7,500 is credited toward a follow-on engagement of $25,000 or more, at a minimum of 10 hours a week.

  1. Week 1: kickoff, then walkthroughs with the people who run the process
  2. Week 2: analysis, the 90-day plan, and a one-hour readout with your executive sponsor

What we need from you: an executive sponsor, a process owner, and a few hours with the team members who do the work.

A SIPOC of your process

Suppliers, inputs, steps, outputs and customers on 1 page, built from walkthroughs with the people who do the work.

Ranked opportunities

3 to 5 improvements, ranked by impact and effort, each with the likely cause behind the problem.

A 90-day plan

What to tackle first, who owns each piece, and what done looks like at 30, 60 and 90 days.

Want to try the thinking for free first?

The diagnostic uses the same tools we give away. Your team can learn the SIPOC in a free 1-hour session, or try the free toolkit on its own, and bring what it finds to the first call.

Questions about the operational assessment.

What is an operational assessment?

An operational assessment is a structured review of how a process runs today: who supplies it, where work waits or comes back, and what it costs. The output is a ranked list of improvements and a plan for which to tackle first.

How much does an operational assessment cost?

The First Win Diagnostic is $7,500, fixed, for 1 process. The price doesn't change with what we find.

How long does the operational assessment take?

About 2 weeks. Week 1 is kickoff and walkthroughs with the people who run the process. Week 2 is analysis, the 90-day plan and a one-hour readout with your executive sponsor.

Do we need clean data before we start?

No. Most teams we work with don't track error rates, and finding those gaps is part of the work.

Will the diagnostic fix the process?

No. It's a diagnosis and a plan: a SIPOC of the process, 3 to 5 ranked improvements with their likely causes, and a 90-day plan. You own the plan when we're done.

What happens after the diagnostic?

You can carry out the plan yourselves. If you hire Windy Hill Partners for a follow-on engagement of $25,000 or more, at a minimum of 10 hours a week, the full $7,500 is credited toward it.
